When it comes to fashion week and catwalks in general you often find that when brands are looking for models they look for the usual, plain looking tall skinny blonde white girls, its not as bad as it used to be and you do see many different races walking the catwalks now, They still stick to the size though, models have always been know to be very skinny and usually not a healthy weight to be accepted into the modelling world or even the fashion world. Its becoming more of a thing (trend) to be broadening the options of models walking the catwalks today, we now have a lot more plus sized models and all sorts of different races walking for shows. Some more than others and one brand that has always stood out to me was Dolce & Gabbana as they have been doing it different to other designers for a little longer than everyone else and even before it became a trend.
I personally love how they have done there shows over the years, there collections are always fabulous with there D&G touch to every piece still, but making it so different in little ways each collection. What I love most is that they have people that are fashion influences, bloggers and even women who are older as you will see, and much more walking for there shows and not the same old go to looking model.
They also have plus sized models walking like the famous Ashley Graham that inspires many women who don't feel very confident with there body due to being "plus size". All these people send a message to say that you can still be accepted into the world of fashion and wear the clothes you want to and diversity is a lot more acceptable in fashion now.
